How IP Trace System handles your data.
Last updated: April 14, 2026
Overview
IP Trace System is a free tool for looking up the geographic location of public IPv4 addresses. We've designed the service to collect as little information as possible, and this page explains exactly what that means in practice.
What we collect
Queried IP addresses are processed in memory and are not written to any persistent storage on our side. We keep short-lived server logs (typically retained for 7 days) containing request timestamps, HTTP status codes and user-agent strings for abuse prevention and debugging. These logs are never sold, shared, or linked to any identity.
Cookies & tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or browser fingerprinting. A minimal language-preference cookie may be set if you switch locales. Privacy-respecting aggregate analytics may be used to count page views and error rates; these do not identify individual users.
Third-party services
To resolve a lookup, the IP you submit is forwarded to upstream geolocation providers such as MaxMind, IPinfo and Amap. Those providers operate under their own privacy terms. We do not share your own visiting IP with them beyond what is unavoidable for standard network communication.
Your rights
Because we don't store personal data, there's generally nothing to export or delete. If you believe a specific log entry pertains to you and would like it purged, contact us and we will remove matching records from retained logs.
